The 36-year-old lawyer and politician is running for Congress to replace retiring incumbent Rob Menendez, D-NJ.
Robert J. Menendez Jr. was born on July 12, 1985, in Hoboken, New Jersey. He is the son of Senator Bob Menendez, D-NJ, and Jane Jacobsen Menendez. Menendez Jr. graduated from Columbia University and Rutgers Law School. He worked as a lawyer in private practice before entering politics.
In 2017, Menendez Jr. was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly. He served in the Assembly until 2021, when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Menendez Jr. is a member of the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Small Business.
Menendez Jr. is a rising star in the Democratic Party. He is a strong advocate for progressive policies, such as affordable healthcare, education, and environmental protection. Menendez Jr. is also a vocal critic of President Trump and his policies.
