**Major Earthquake Shakes East Coast, Felt from Philadelphia to Boston** **April 5, 2024** At 10:23 AM EST, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Long Island, sending tremors from Philadelphia to Boston. The earthquake, one of the strongest ever felt on the East Coast, jolted buildings in New York City, where commuters were riding the Long Island Railroad.
